马佐平是耶鲁大学Raymond J. Wean讲座教授,自1977年开始在耶鲁大学担任教职。他与耶鲁大学的结缘始于1969年,那一年他被耶鲁大学录取为研究生,随后在1974年获得了工程与应用科学博士学位。除了在IBM的3年(1974至1977年),他把自己的整个职业生涯献给了耶鲁大学,并自1978年起担任耶鲁大学特朗布尔学院(12个住宿学院之一)的教职研究员。他两度担任耶鲁大学电气工程系主任,分别是1991至1995年和2001至2007年。此外,马教授还是耶鲁大学微电子中心的共同主任,也是耶鲁-北大微纳电子合作研究中心的共同主任。马教授是美国国家工程院(NAE)院士、中国科学院(CAS)外籍院士、台湾中央研究院外籍院士和国际电气与电子工程学会(IEEE)终身会员。
所获荣誉包括:台湾交通大学荣誉博士学位,2008年获得康涅狄格技术奖章,2006年获得SIA(半导体行业协会)大学研究员奖,2005年获得国际电气与电子工程学会Andrew S. Grove奖,2005年获得潘文渊研究奖,1998年获得国际电气与电子工程学会EDS Paul Rappaport奖,1991年获得康涅狄格州美国创造奖。
马教授同时是中国科学院、天津大学、台湾国立交通大学荣誉教授,以及北京大学和清华大学客座教授。他还是苏州工业园纳米/微电子产业首席科学顾问,福建政府的海外科学/技术咨询小组的负责人。
Ma Tso-Ping is Raymond J. Wean Chair Professor of Electrical Engineering at Yale University, where he has been a faculty member since 1977. His long involvement with Yale University began in 1969, when he enrolled in Yale as a graduate student, and subsequently obtained a Ph.D. degree in Engineering and Applied Sciences in 1974. Except for a 3-year (1974-1977) stint at IBM, he has devoted his entire professional life to Yale University, and has served as Faculty Fellow of Yale’s Trumbull College (one of the 12 residential colleges) since 1978. He served as Chairman of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Yale between 1991 and 1995, and also between 2001 and 2007. He is a Co-Director of Yale Center for Microelectronics, and a Co-Director of the Yale-Peking Joint Center for Microelectronics and Nanotechnology. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) in USA, a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), an Academician of the Academia Sinica in Taiwan, and a Life Fellow of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE).
He has received an honorary Doctor’s Degree from the National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan, the 2008 Connecticut Medal of Technology, the 2006 SIA (Semiconductor Industry Association) University Researcher Award, the 2005 IEEE Andrew S. Grove Award, a 2005 Pan Wen-Yuan Research Award, a 1998 IEEE EDS Paul Rappaport Award, and the 1991 Connecticut Yankee Ingenuity Award.
He is an Honorary Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tianjin University, and National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan, as well as an Honorary Guest Professor at Peking University and Tsinghua University. He also serves as the Chief Scientific Advisor to Suzhou Industrial Park’s Nano/Mocroelectronics Industries, and Head of the Fujian Government’s Overseas Scientific/Technology Advisory Group.
