Liu Liang

President of Macau University of Science and Technology

Chair Professor Liu Liang currently is the President of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (MUST). He has been serving as the Project Adviser of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Traditional Medicine since 2003, Member of the Technical Committee of ISO/TC249 and Convener of the Working Group for Quality and Safety of Raw Materials and Traditional Processing of Chinese Herbal Medicine since 2010, Expert member of the Advisory Expert Committee on Reform and Development of Chinese Medicine of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of China, Chairman of the Committee of Immunology of Chinese Medicine under the World Federation Chinese Medicine Society, Member of the Standing Committee of the Society of Higher Education of China, Member of Talent Development Committee of Macao SAR, Member of Science and Technology Committee of Macao SAR, Member of Medical Council of Macao SAR. Professor Liu has been a seasoned scholar in rheumatology of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has published over 400 articles and conference abstracts/reports in well-known SCI journals and international/national conferences. Also, he has successfully solicited 30 innovation patents, 28 out of 30 were granted by international patent agencies. He has won a number of awards including two prizes of the Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize) awarded by the State Council of China, the First Prize of the Natural Science Award awarded by the Ministry of Education of China and other seven prizes in science and technology advancement at provincial level in China.
